In this maddening world, people need to have some spiritual and mental fallback when things are not working well.
Some resort to prayers while others engage in hobbies to keep their thoughts occupied. And yet there are many who use affirmations to clear their thoughts of all the negativities and to strengthen their hope to survive and thereby achieve their goals in life.
You can create a powerful and effective affirmation by following these suggestions:
Meditate
While you meditate, make a self assessment. What are the areas you want to improve in yourself? What are your long term and short term goals? What are your immediate plans and how do you intend to achieve them? These are some points that you have to reflect on, to know what kind of affirmation you want to create in yourself.
Assess you thoughts
Note down all your negative thoughts about your health, family, work, friends, neighbors and just everyone and everything you deal with in your everyday life.
Include your fears as well. What is your greatest fear in life? What are the anxieties that rule you when you are faced with inevitable dilemmas? Get rid of all these by mentally striking the bad images out.
Acknowledge your insecurities
People suffer from insecurities because they are not sure of themselves. They think there is always someone better than they are. Face your insecurities by writing them down. Analyze how you can overcome these insecurities.
Focus on your vision
Picture yourself in a certain situation where you want to be in the near future. If you like to travel, for instance – imagine yourself riding in an airplane going to the destination you wish to go.
You want to go to Europe during the summer? Think of yourself walking along the cobblestone pavement of Paris.
Picture in your mind an image of yourself climbing the Leaning Tower of Pisa or having an audience with the Pope in Vatican.
Actualize your visualizations
There are people who claim that creating a happy image of yourself will propel positive energies towards you and this technique will help actualize your visions in life.
For example, make a cutout of your picture. Paste this picture against the backdrop (photo) of the Parthenon in Greece and post it on your wall. Each day that you wake up, you will see the image. Somehow, the photo will cause a subliminal effect on you so that the idea of traveling to this place will be formed and affirmed in your mind.
Your thoughts and actions then will consequently gravitate towards that dream – until it becomes a reality.
Do not dwell on failures
When faced with frustrations and hurts – sulking, crying and brooding will not help at all. Well, it is okay to cry – but do not allow it to last for days. After crying your heart out – go out of your house and take a breath of fresh air. Then you are ready to face the world again with positive thoughts and attitude.
Entertain pleasant thoughts
You become what your thoughts are. If you think you are sick, you will get ill in no time. If you believe you cannot close a business deal, then do not bother talking to the client anymore – it’s a done deal – at your disadvantage.
Your thoughts are very powerful. They can make or break your day. It is in your thoughts that your actions first take shape.
So be very careful what you think about, be very cautious about what you wish for as it might come true although it is against your want and will.
